A day well spent
It was a normal crowdy night in the “city of Gardens” Lahore.People here are called as Zinda Dilaan-e-Lahore because these people enjoy every festival, every event with so much enthusiasm and it is said that this splendid city never sleeps. So after a tired shopping thing we started feeling hunger pangs and we decided to find a food place to sit and satisfy our dinnerless souls.
While searching we passed by a restaurant and its name “Turkish Donor Kebab” was a reason of attraction for us as we never tried Turkish food before.
Right at the corner near the University of Central Punjab, the restaurant provides both outdoor as well as indoor environments. There is a parking space of around four to five cars in front of the restaurant. More cars can be accommodated on the service road. The outdoor sitting is arranged right after the car parking before the main entrance of the restaurant. This makes it a bit uncomfortable as being situated right next to the main road means the environment can’t be handled appropriately by the restaurant management.
So we decided to stop by and have our dinner over there. As I entered there the thing caught my attention was cleanliness, environment was fresh and there was a plenty of light, so at once out tired bodies got some relief.
As soon as we sat there a nice waitress arrived at our table with menu and guided us about the dishes shown in list because the names mentioned were quite new for us and we were unable to guess the taste of dishes mentioned in menu.Menu included the variety of Turkish dishes.
So with the help of waitress we decided and ordered ISKENDER KEBAB, because it seem very tempting in picture and according to the waitress it was a top notch from the main course, the second thing we ordered was special Turkish Pizza made in a REAL wood-fired oven.
The kebab dish arrived on our table in less then 20 minutes. It was a dish made up of thin slices of lamb,a lot of tomato sauce,Baked potatoes, and yogurt Pita bread and a lot of melted butter floating over the dish.
After taking a few slices of lamb with bread, dipped in the layers of molten butter, the tummy starts feeling satisfied.

And after 25 minutes we received Pizza and it was scrumptious, the dough was so soft yet cheesy that it just effortlessly melted in the mouth.
If you are with your family, especially kids, special Turkish Pizza is a good choice in the menu. Made in a real wood-fired oven, a thick layer of pale-yellow molten salami cheese with an array of black olives, fried silver onions, garlic, greenish capsicum and red tomatoes, the pizza creates a truly unique experience for the family.

We decided at start that we will taste different Turkish dishes but we became so stuffed that we couldn’t try more dishes.
Lastly, we were told that Turkish qahwa is a totally a steal and it was as it mentioned.
We enjoyed every bit of it.We felt so refreshing after having Turkish qahwa.

All in all, Turkish Doner Kebab restaurant provides a unique dining experience with fine ambience, good service with Turkish cuisine in a desi touch. With the menu at hand, one may think of a lack of variety after a few dine ins. But with satisfying serving and quality not being compromised and having a small budget, this restaurant should be in your next dine out list.
So I would rate Turkish Donor Kebab as
Overall Taste 9/10
Value for money 9/10
Ambience and service 10/10
